Galactic Network led the migration of the organization’s financial training system to AWS using a structured, five-phase approach aligned with the AWS Well-Architected Framework.

The project began with a detailed discovery and assessment of all existing servers, reviewing each based on its role, dependencies, operating system, application function, data flow, and business criticality. A secure AWS landing environment was then established, covering network setup, subnet segmentation, IAM access controls, logging, monitoring, backup configuration, and baseline security services.

Servers were migrated in logical waves based on application dependency and business priority, lower-risk and supporting servers first, followed by application and database components. After migration, the environment was hardened using AWS-native security controls: access was restricted based on least privilege, sensitive data was encrypted, logs were centralized, and monitoring alarms were configured for key system metrics.

In the final phase, compute and database resources were right-sized based on actual workload usage. Performance monitoring was used to identify bottlenecks, optimize instance sizing, and improve application responsiveness, ensuring the platform could handle peak training periods without degradation.

The migration delivered meaningful improvements across security, availability, and operational efficiency. Security vulnerabilities were reduced by 80% through systematic hardening, encryption, and the adoption of AWS-native security controls, significantly strengthening the organization’s security posture and audit readiness.
